Hanna's Adventure in Cape Town
Hannah said it was amazing to be selected to represent GB at the first world cup of 2017 in South Africa and such an incredible experience to start the season. The start list included a couple of Olympians and the current world number 3, on the same course that was used for the WTS event last year. She travelled to South Africa with high hopes for the race, having been training hard over the winter. However, after coming out of the swim in 13th place, Hannah had a problem in T1 which meant she missed the bike pack. From then on she was playing catch up, eventually finishing in 23rd; a long way off where she had aimed to finish.
Regardless of being disappointed by the result, she said “it was a great experience racing alongside such talented athletes, and I’m looking forward to taking what I have learnt to the season ahead. I’m really excited to see what the 2017 season will bring and thank you all for your continued support and for the encouraging comments I have received following the race”.
